The Headpiece

The bride's choice of headpiece shold be made with care: an ill-fitting or unsuitable headpiece can detract from a beautiful outfit.

  • Always select the headpiece after choosing the style of the dress
  • Consider the shape of your face and length of your hair. Take into account how your hair will be styled on the day.
  • Wear the headpiece for at least half an hour before buying to check for fit. Headpieces should be light, and be able to adjust to your head and hair.

Veils

Veils are available in numerous colours, materials and trimmings. They range from one metre to longer than three metres and are mostly made of tulle or lace. The general trend is that the more formal the wedding gown, the longer the veil. GF bridal Couture can also be custom bead or trim your veil to co-ordinate with your gown.

The wedding veil was introduced early in the Christian era, and although many brides chose white, royal purple was also popular. In many civilisations the bride's status as a maiden was denoted by her long flowing hair, which she wore completely uncovered. During the 19th century a short veil served as an accessory, much like a scarf.
