Gloves make an exquisite statement. The bride as well as everyone else in the wedding party can wear them. GF Bridal Couture offers a select range of short and long gloves to co-ordinate with your wedding outfit.
The type of glove worn depends on the style and sleeve length of the dress.
- Strapless or shoestring straps: a long, over the elbow glove is appropriate and will provide a touch of elegance and formality.
- Short-sleeve: best with a below-the-elbow glove
- Long-sleeve: a wrist-length glove is all that is necessary
Glove style needs to be consistent with the fabric, style and color of the gown. Silk gowns are worn with silk gloves in white or ivory depending on the color and hue of the dress. Velvet, sheer, matte, and leather can also be appropriate depending upon the time of day the wedding will take place and which texture best compliments the gown. Trim details from the dress, such as pearls, rosebuds or lace can adorn the gloves as well.

A handbag is useful for all those emergency supplies:
- aspirin
- nail file
- makeup especially lipstick (after eating and drinking) and mascara (you're sure to shed a few tears at some point)

SHOES
Walk down the aisle in style and comfort with the right shoes. You've got many options for standing at the altar, greeting your guests and dancing the night away.
- Consider the fabric of your dress. Match silk and satin gowns to satin shoes, and match tulle and silk chiffon gowns to crepe or raw-silk shoes.
- Select embellishments that match your dress and headpiece.
- Remember shades of white and off-white can vary dramatically. don't try to guess the colour.
- Think about a style of shoe that complements the dress and your own personal style. Sandals, slippers, pumps or strappy heels are all viable options.
- Consider heel heights: slippers, flat heel, midheel or high heel. Decide whether you need to maximize or minimize your height to complement that of your fiancé.
- Try shoes on with your actual dress if possible. Evaluate how the dress hangs in proportion to the shoes, if you can see the shoes at all.
- Buy comfortable shoes. You'll be standing and dancing in them for a long time.
A tip from one of our brides...
" I'll be wearing shoes that will make me taller for the pictures and the ceremony so that I don't look funny next to the groom. For the reception, the groom and I will have matching all white Adidas tennis shoes to dance the night away. Since the tennis shoes will remain undecorated, we can both wear them as casual cruising around shoes on the honeymoon and after! "
